Hosting and provision of the website

Our website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus (VAT No. CY10301365E) (“Hostinger”). Hostinger’s content delivery network (CDN) is also used to deliver the website.

Each time our website is accessed, the hosting provider automatically collects information transmitted by your browser in so-called server log files. This comprises:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • date and time of the server request
  • page or file requested
  • referrer URL (the previously visited page)
  • browser type and browser version
  • operating system used

The processing of this data is necessary to deliver the website and to ensure its secure and stable operation (e.g. defending against attacks, analysing errors). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the technically error-free, secure and stable provision of our website.

The server log files are deleted after a short period, at the latest after 14 days.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with the hosting provider pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. This ensures that Hostinger, as processor, processes the personal data of our website visitors only on our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

Fonts (served locally)

This website uses the fonts “Unbounded” and “DM Sans”. The font files are stored locally on our own server and are delivered from there.

When you access our website, no connection is established to servers of Google or other third-party providers in order to load fonts. Accordingly, your IP address is not transmitted to Google for this purpose.

Cookies and storage of your cookie settings

We do not use any marketing cookies on this website. Cookies for analytics purposes (Google Analytics 4, see below) are only set if you have expressly consented via our cookie banner.

In order to save your choice in the cookie banner, we store an entry named “rb-consent” in your browser’s local storage. It contains your choice (consent given or refused) and the date of your decision. The entry is kept for 12 months; after that, you will be asked for your decision again.

Storing this entry is strictly necessary so that we can respect your consent decision. The legal basis for storing it on your device is § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG; the associated processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in implementing your consent decision).

You can delete the data stored in your browser at any time via your browser settings.

Web analytics with Google Analytics 4

Only if you have given your consent, this website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google Analytics enables us to analyse the use of our website and to improve our services.

Data processed: Pseudonymised usage data is processed, in particular pages visited, time of the visit, referrer URL, approximate location (derived from the shortened IP address) and information about the device and browser. Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses.

Cookies: Google Analytics sets the cookies “_ga” and “_ga_<ID>” with a lifetime of up to 2 years.

Legal basis: The cookies are set and the data is processed exclusively on the basis of the consent you give via our cookie banner (§ 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Without your consent, Google Analytics is not loaded.

Transfer to third countries: Data may also be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; this transfer is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR).

Retention period: The data collected in Google Analytics is automatically deleted after 14 months.

Withdrawal: You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. Upon withdrawal, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted. The lawfulness of the processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.

This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent.
